TODAY’S NATIONAL DAY, 9/6/25 – BARBIE DOLL DAY!

Barmaid BarbieKen Dahl hasn’t been so lucky since the divorce, but his Ex and her new husband G.I. Joe remain household names in America, so today we celebrate

NATIONAL BARBIE DOLL DAY!

SInce 1959, Barbie has been our National Sweetheart, a true single-name American icon and a symbol of mindless consumerism.

Barbie is a plastic woman with a bigger wardrobe, more accessories and more dream houses than the Queen of England, and a Preppie boyfriend with no balls. Holy Paris Hilton, sisters!

Well, “Malibu” Barbie is (!) 66 now, with crow’s feet and a husky voice from decades of Martinis and Marlboros, but almost as buff and durable as Cher.

But don’t go planning any fundraisers or retirement parties for old Barb. Despite the wear and tear of some hard years, Barbie had her best year ever in 2023 when her campy movie biography lit up silver screens globally, and Barbie was one more a household name in scores of languages. The merchandising alone ought to keep her in pool boys and champagne for decades to come.

Three cheers for Barbie and well preserved Cougars everywhere!
