NATIONAL TV DINNER DAY!
Introduced 70 years ago by C.A. Swanson & Sons, TV dinners are one of our guilty pleasures, a zero-effort meal complete with dessert, all together in its own compartmentalized “heat-in, eat-in tray.”
Whether we eat them because we are busy, lazy or crazy, Americans spend $4.5 billion a year on TV dinners. They are a far cry from the bland meat loaf and turkey dinner choices of yesteryear, and now available in a dizzying variety of dishes, some of them even having a bit of flavor and a hint of nutrition.
