Let’s run down to the ocean and wiggle our toes in the sand! Why? Because it’s Summertime, and today is
NATIONAL PLAY IN THE SAND DAY!
From our earliest days as mischievous peewees, we love playing in the sand, either in the playground sandbox or at the beach.
We loved digging holes, making mud pies and sand castles, and burying our Dads up to their necks.
Who can forget our little pails and shovels, and the windblown sand coating our skin all sticky with sunblock until we looked like little breaded dumplings? Then we’d jump in the water to rinse off and do it all over again, then again and again before our parents physically dragged us away from the sand.
Some of us never grow out of it, and just the thought of sand makes us want to kick off our shoes and run around like enchanted elves. Find some sand today, and do what comes naturally.
