NATIONAL LET’S HUG DAY!
Turns out that hugging for just 20 seconds releases soothing chemicals in your brain, and feelings of safety and trust increase.
Hugging is a basic human instinct, clinging to those closest to us, from the tiniest infant to the biggest galoot.
When we fall in love, those hugs are unique, something special and sweet that only two can share. When we are hurting, we need the reassuring touch of others, that empathetic embrace that tells us that no matter how great our pain and loss, we are not alone. Someone understands, someone is there for you, someone cares deeply, somebody loves you very much.
Today we celebrate hugs, and those who give and receive them.
