What can it hurt, one day a year? The whole world went completely nuts a while ago, and most of us just went with the flow and learned to embrace the lunacy. Today we try something totally different on
NATIONAL COMMON SENSE DAY!
We used to have a lot of common sense in this country, accomplished lots of complicated things working together, judged every situation by the available facts, treated one another respectfully, and pretty much kept our distance from the lunatics among us.
Then one day someone got the bright idea to get rid of all the lunatics by electing them to public office so they’d have to go live someplace else, either a State Capital or in Washington, D.C. Well, that solved the local problem just fine, but suddenly there were large concentrations of lunatics in one place, and that’s when all the trouble started.
Today we take a breather and ask ourselves if voting for smart, well-adjusted people might be a better idea. If common sense doesn’t work out, we can always go back to being nuts.
