NATIONAL FLAKE APPRECIATION DAY!

Who really knows if no two snowflakes are alike? They sure look plenty alike for the split second we get to inspect them. Once on the ground, they create a uniform, beautiful blanket of icy white fluff, rendering the idea of individual flakes meaningless.

There are few more wondrous sights than our everyday world seen under a fresh snowfall, the familiar transformed to the magical and mystical right before our eyes. If only for a little while, the child within each of us peeks out at this glistening world, and we spring alive with untroubled joy, giggling with anticipation. It’s snowing!

•Suggested Activities: Snow angels. Always do snow angels.
