TODAY’S NATIONAL DAY, 9/25/20 – ONE-HIT WONDER DAY!

Question Mark & The Mysterians

Question Mark & The Mysterians

John Fred and His Playboy Band or the Lemon Pipers may not be household names, but their songs, “Judy in Disguise (With Glasses)” and “Green Tambourine’ sure ring a bell. Well this is their day, the day we celebrate

NATIONAL ONE-HIT WONDER DAY!

You know a bunch of them, you love their songs, and maybe even wonder what became of them. Or not, but you still smile and sing along to “Winchester Cathedral” by The New Vaudeville Band. We still search jukeboxes for “Dirty Water” by The Standels, “Radar Love” by Golden Earring or “Don’t you Want me” by The Human League, and don’t care that these bands didn’t have a string of other hits, at least they had that one great one you will always remember. So today, we shed “96 Tears” as we maintain our “98.6” and hold our baby “Tighter and Tighter.”

•Suggested Activities: Barefootin’, Walking in Memphis and doing the Bongo Stomp.
